Arewa Group Tells Akpabio to Resign Immediately over Sexual Harassment Allegations by Natasha 

…Vows to Mobilise Two Million Persons to NASS on Friday 

Northerner based group under the umbrella of Arewa Youths Concerned  League(AYCL) has asked the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio to step aside immediately to allow for investigation into the alleged  sexual harassment case reported by Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan.

According to the group , Akpabio cannot be a judge in his own case,thus the suggestion from several quarters that he should resign or be  forced to do so .

Though Senate President  officially denied allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, it’s unfortunate that he has to deny an open secret .

In a press statement signed by Comrade Ibrahim Ibrahim Ahmadu,the Coordinator of Arewa Youths Concerned League, the group  gave the Senate President a 24 hour ultimatum to resign and subsequently apologize to Senator Natasha.

The Statement further reads: “Failure to resign within the 24 hours, the youths will storm the National Assembly complex on Friday to ensure his punished out for undermining a woman.

“As we speak ,we are  already moblising our youths across  the 19 northern states for the  two million man March to National Assembly on protest against unhealthy treatment of women in politics.

The group, which urged the National Assembly to rise above board, insisted that Akpabio should vacate the seat as the Senate President and allow his  Deputy, take over and preside over the House during the period of investigation.

“We want to state categorically that we are battle ready to fight any attempt to scuttle or suppress investigation about the sexual harassment.”
